Making a Bequest
We know that making a bequest is a deeply personal decision. You should look after your family and friends first, but you can leave a gift to an organization like CatholicCare as you might to any person. Below we suggest a number of different forms of bequest you might consider:
- The residue of the estate after family and other beneficiaries have been provided for.
- A percentage of your estate, which allows for the value of your bequest to change over time, but the proportion to remain the same.
- A specific gift that is a fixed sum of money or property.
You should ensure with the person drafting your will that it accords with your wishes, and that it is reviewed and updated regularly. Bequests are the most useful and effective method to enable the Foundation to make a difference.
